A Milestone Event: Growing Globally Competitive Students at Belvoir Elementary

What a journey it’s been! At the end of the 2023–24 school year, Belvoir Elementary School achieved an incredible milestone in its Global Leaders journey toward growing globally competitive students and making the world a better place. The school’s hard work paid off when it was recognized as an Accomplished Global Leaders school, a designation that applauds its commitment to empowering students to address global issues and preparing them for their future careers. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of every student, teacher, and staff member at Belvoir Elementary.

Celebrating excellence at Belvoir’s International Global Festival

This achievement coincided with the school’s popular International Global Festival, an annual spring event that truly brings global education to life. After an exciting designation ceremony, the entire Belvoir community came together to celebrate. A video presentation of the Accomplished designation award kicked off the evening’s festivities.

Throughout the festival, a slideshow showcased the year’s globally focused projects. These inspiring works highlighted how Belvoir is developing globally competitive students by weaving global issues into all areas of learning, broadening their understanding of them.

Student innovations in global projects

One of the evening’s highlights was a fashion show where students strutted the runway in outfits made from recycled materials. Their commitment to sustainability and creativity was on full display as they made their way down the catwalk. This wonderful show perfectly aligned with the school’s efforts to tackle global issues such as responsible consumption and production.

Families had a blast exploring the many booths set up throughout the school, each one a window into the students’ remarkable achievements. From dual language cultural exhibits to competency highlights and global issue–related projects, there was so much to discover. Rounding out the evening, the school worked with local food trucks to participate, adding the cultural learning experience of enjoying diverse cuisines.

Empowering future global leaders: A community effort

This event wasn’t just about celebrating—it was about learning and growing together as a community. By engaging families and neighbors in global learning, Belvoir is spreading its positive impact far beyond the classroom walls.

Belvoir Elementary’s journey to become a global leader in education shows us all how local actions can create ripples of change across the world. The school’s unwavering dedication to preparing globally competitive students and tackling global issues head-on is truly inspiring. Belvoir is setting an example that schools everywhere can follow.

A huge congratulations to everyone at Belvoir Elementary on this well-deserved recognition! We can’t wait to see how you’ll continue to lead, innovate, and inspire in global education in the coming school year and beyond.
