At Participate Learning, we are committed to providing all students with equitable access to a quality education as well as the opportunity to learn locally and think globally. We are passionate about global learning and proudly partner with districts and schools. These partnerships help educators integrate global content into existing curriculum, which, in turn, develops culturally aware, future leaders with the tools to ignite change on a global scale.
Introducing the Ambassador Program
For over thirty years, Participate Learning has successfully placed thousands of cultural exchange teachers in schools in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. We partner with these schools to host more than 1,100 high-quality, international teachers each year. These ambassadors use their personal cultural perspectives in their classrooms by embedding them into the curriculum, enhancing the global viewpoints of their students.
The Participate ambassadors dramatically impact their entire school communities by broadening perspectives, encouraging cultural diversity, fostering reciprocal learning, educating students on cultural awareness and global connectedness, and creating enriching experiences for the whole student body. The influence of these ambassadors helps to improve students’ understanding of the ten global competencies and to develop their identities as global citizens.
Participate Learning plans to further this opportunity for schools and bring global education alive through our new Participate Ambassador program. This program builds off of the placement of ambassadors by providing additional resources for school leaders and fellow teachers.
Benefits of the Ambassador Program
We have created a package of resources to complement the ambassadors with three main goals in mind—professional growth, collaboration, and a foundation for a long-term partnership with Participate Learning. Here are the benefits to schools that choose to invest in the program:
- Communities of practice: Principals will be connected with other global leaders throughout North Carolina to learn from and share with each other.
- Online professional development: Principals will have access to a collection of professional development courses. In conjunction with the courses, there is an opportunity for them to earn renewal credits through our digital badge program.
- In-person professional development: We provide an opportunity for our partnering principals to come together and collaborate with the common goal of building global citizens.
- Marketing: Our marketing experts will work with schools to develop branded assets to communicate their successes. We will amplify a school’s progression via posts on our various social media channels.
The Participate Ambassador program will enhance the global education knowledge of the school leader, increase visibility of the program through marketing support, and provide additional opportunities for professional development for principals. This partnership is far more than simply hiring a teacher—it is a chance for school leaders and staff to begin a journey toward leading a school that values, embraces, and prioritizes the positive impact of global education.
